Matt Smith

Matt graduated from the University of Toledo in 2006 with a Middle Childhood Education degree specializing in Science and Social Studies. He taught 2 years at a Charter school in North Toledo, before accepting a teaching position and Varsity Boys Basketball coaching position at Swanton Local Schools. Matt taught various grade levels years, coached the boys basketball team for 9 years, and served as the Swanton Middle School Principal for 8 years. The Swanton Middle School staff was awarded the 2020 OMLA Team of the Year. In 2023, Matt became the Principal of Fallen Timbers Middle School in the Anthony Wayne School District. Matt resides in Waterville with his wife Lindsay and their daughters Rylee and Kinsley.
