Brian Mendler

Brian Mendler has extensive experience working with challenging students in general ed, self-contained, and inclusion settings. He provides staff development training for K-12 educators throughout the world with the focus on how to be successful with even the most difficult students. He trains tens of thousands of educators every year and is a highly regarded dynamic speaker. Educators love his seminars, because he is able to provide strategies that work immediately for today’s youth. Brian Mendler has recently authored a book titled, Watch Your Mouth. This book provides easy to use strategies for preventing and responding to difficult, disruptive, defiant, and unmotivated behavior. He is also the author of the best seller That One Kid, 2nd Edition and has also co-authored four books titled, Strategies for Successful Classroom Management, Power Struggles, TIPS for Teachers and Turning Tough Parents into Strong Partners. The books provide practical, in-depth ideas for working with unmotivated and disruptive students. Brian continues to volunteer with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Special Olympics programs.


Kevin Honeycutt

Kevin grew up in poverty, doing stints in foster care while attending school in more than 20 states before becoming the first high school and college graduate in his family. He taught 1-12 art, summer art camps and wrote and directed high school plays for 13 years. During that time he was nominated for Sallie Mae Master Teacher, Kansas Master Teacher and won the Making IT Happen Award. After the classroom he transitioned to a role as a staff developer and keynote speaker at an educational non-profit service agency called ESSDACK for the next 17 years. There, Kevin conceived and developed multiple research based programs in the areas of project based learning, trauma/poverty informed instruction, SEL, and STEM/STEAM education. He has worked with teachers and students in 49 states plus Puerto Rico and has delivered keynotes to audiences all over the world in places such as Norway, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Barcelona, New Zealand, London, Manila, multiple provinces in Canada and multiple cities in Australia including locations in the Outback such as Groote Eylandt. He is a husband, father, grandfather, published author, and entrepreneur. In 2021 he partnered with his wife of 31 years to start his own company, Honeycutt Consulting, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
