Kelli Cogan graduated in 1993 from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She received her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from John Carroll University and her Superintendent license from Cleveland State University. Kelli is currently the Superintendent of Independence Local Schools. Before Independence, Kelli worked in Olmsted Falls, Avon Lake, Twinsburg, and Cleveland Heights-University Heights City Schools. During Cogan's more than 30 years in education, she has served in various roles at the local and state level. She was recognized as a Jennings Scholar, has served on various district and local committees, and presented at local and state conferences. As a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, and now Superintendent, Ms. Cogan shares with the dedicated teachers of Ohio a common desire to inspire and empower all students to become lifelong learners. Kelli Currently resides in Rocky River with her husband, Chris, and their two children.
