After graduating from Bowling Green State University in 2006, he litigated workers’ compensation hearings in Ohio for 6 years. In 2013, he began teaching at Focus Learning Academy, a middle level charter school in Columbus. During this time, he earned a master's degree from Saint Joseph’s University in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security. Rick then made the jump to Crooksville Exempted School District in southeast Ohio, teaching social studies. After a four-year stop in Kenton, Ohio, teaching American History, Rick moved to Sandusky, Ohio with his wife, Jill, and two children, Judah and Lilah. He is now the principal of Main Street Intermediate School in Norwalk, Ohio. Over the years, Rick has coached volleyball, softball, baseball, and basketball. He has directed multiple high school musicals, served as department chair and leadership team representative, and earned a second master’s degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Grand Canyon University.  Rick is extremely excited to serve on the OMLA board and continue developing a knowledge of middle level education.
